Growing a Facebook Page for a Local Business in India
By the LikeAdda team · 8 October 2026 · 2 min read
Instagram gets the attention, but for a lot of customers in India — especially outside the metros and above 30 — a Facebook page is where they check whether your business is real.
Set it up to answer questions
- Category, address, phone and hours filled in correctly.
- WhatsApp button so people can message in one tap.
- Cover photo that shows the actual shop or product, not a stock image.
What to post
- Offers and new arrivals (with prices — people want prices).
- Short videos of the shop, the kitchen, the team.
- Customer photos and reviews.
- Festival greetings with a soft offer — Diwali, Eid, Pongal, Durga Puja, Onam.
Facebook groups are your secret weapon
Local buy-sell and community groups ("Indore Foodies", "Pune Moms") are where word-of-mouth happens. Share genuinely useful posts there, not just ads.
Look established
When a customer sees two similar shops, one with 3,500 page followers and reactions on recent posts and one with 90, they trust the first. If you're new, a base of Facebook page followers — Indian followers if you serve locals — and some reactions on your latest offer posts help you look as established as you are.
Use Facebook Live occasionally
A 15-minute live tour of new stock or a cooking demo can outperform a week of posts. Promote it in advance.
