How to Grow a Telegram Channel in India (Exam Prep, Trading, Deals)
By the LikeAdda team · 30 August 2026 · 2 min read
Telegram is massive in India for exam preparation, stock-market tips, job alerts, coupon deals and movie updates. In all of those niches, people decide whether to join based on two numbers: members and views per post.
1. Name the channel for search
Telegram's global search matches channel names and usernames. "Rahul Notes" is invisible; "SSC CGL Notes Hindi" gets found. Put your main keyword in both the title and the @username.
2. Post on a rhythm
Daily posting at predictable times trains members to open the channel. Exam channels often post a morning quiz and an evening summary. Deals channels post in bursts around sale events.
3. Get past the empty-room problem
Nobody forwards a channel with 40 members and 12 views per post. Most successful channels fake-it-till-they-make-it for the first few weeks:
- Add a base of Telegram members — refill-backed if you can, so the count doesn't slide.
- Add post views so each post looks read. Multi-post view services cover your last 5, 10 or 20 posts at once.
- For local niches, use Indian members.
4. Cross-promote
Swap shout-outs with channels of a similar size in a related niche. A channel with 5,000 members can comfortably ask another 5,000-member channel for a swap; a channel with 60 can't.
5. Use premium members for search ranking
Telegram gives channels with Premium members more visibility in search, and Premium users can boost your channel to unlock stories. Premium members cost more and the premium status lasts for a fixed number of days, so time them around a launch.
6. Use reactions
Reactions make a post feel alive. Positive mixes (👍❤️🔥) are cheap and work well on announcement posts.
What to avoid
- Private invite links on services that don't support them.
- Ordering members while the channel has no posts.
- Changing the username during an order.
